Jai Hind! (55-er)

"Maverick" she was!
Society laughed at her hair styles, dress code and make up.

With great difficulty, her mother found a respectable man who was ready to marry her.

The day they met, before he could speak, she asked him, "You have a government job?"

"Yes."

"Do you take bribes?"

"Yes."

She was outta there!

A Letter for every Goan! ( For Green Mind,For Green Goa)

Dear Goan,

I'm riding in a boat, in a canal called Cumbarjua, far off in the interiors of Goa, to places I never explored in my 25 years of living and growing up in Goa. I'm on a mission to spot a croc here, there are around 28 Adult crocs spotted in this area, there's no formal report or document on how many are here though! And I've been lucky enough to spot 1....a large one...the largest I've seen so far...after one and a half hours of riding in the waters.....its a 10 feet big adult croc!
" You all are lucky to spot that one!" Says Dr. Manoj Borkar who's guiding us on this field trip.

It's crazy how Goa always hypnotises me with her beauty!
It's crazy how a few days back I reluctantly stepped in Goa on a vacation I did not expect much from and ended up attending a 6 day long International Camp on Climate Change organised by the British Council.

And while a part of me is making full on plans of breaking every tie with Goa,
Through this camp and its field trips Goa screams at me to not turn my back on her, she longs for my attention, she asks me to do my part for being her daughter!

Mining is eating Goa, and so is the careless tourism!
Goa still seems like a virgin land from far off...but you dig into her a bit deep and you see the wounds....perhaps those that will take a very long time to heal!

There's a need for the Goa Government and the people to have a green mind and to be eco sensitive to understand the problems of Goa and to come up with solutions. The integrity of the people of Goa and the policy makers is highly questionable. And if such an attitude continues, Goa is heading for a big disaster!

India is so obsessed with economics, that economics has become our only measure for success. But for a land as rich in biodiversity as India, we need to keep a balance between economics and the ecology.

A few years back I took up to organising camps for school kids so that they become aware of the situation and I have great faith in our next generation...They have the courage to stand up and talk about issues that at some point, my generation lacks!

Solutions are many, but are we ready to make the change? Are we ready for the change?
We Indians are so stuck in our cocoons of culture that we are bound by our senseless Do's and Dont's. We are stuck in our stereotypes!

From now on, I'll write a post, once a month about the solutions to each of Goa's or India's problems. Solutions that have been adopted by some country or some Indian state. Let's not talk only of problems anymore, let's talk about solutions now and let's show the courage to implement the solutions in our day to day life!

Those of my readers, friends, well wishers who are willing to make a change to their surroundings and protect the environment, please get in touch with me at jsincro@gmail.com and I shall put you in touch with people who can help you, guide you in matters concerning our environment.

Let's do our bit for our motherland!
Just one's.......please!!

Hoping for a positive response from educated  individuals!

About: Auto Drivers and their Nakhraas!

I just arrived in Bengaluru!

Rickshawalas lined up after me to take me to my destination....but I wasn't picking any....Some said they would charge only Rs.150,some for 1 and half the actual meter fare ...but nobody said they would take me home at the meter rate.

A proper meter usually comes to Rs.95 to 100 for my trip. No more!

So I took my time, I did not want to curse myself for being fooled again by another rickshaw driver.

At the end of the road stood one driver with his rickshaw. He looked simple and decent. And he did not follow people ,coaxing them to take his services. So I went and asked him for his services. He said he would go on meter charge.

I felt so happy and proud of myself for being able to spot an honest auto driver. I thought this time, I can relax in the auto without having to keep a watch on the meter.

Not even 20 minutes down the road, I felt the meter was running too fast. I looked at it again.....tried to tell myself that maybe I was hallucinating! This has happened so many times, I don't know how the correct meter works anymore. But no.....it had happened again! Like every other time! The meter was not just fast...it was running super fast. Faster than the Auto!

I wasn't even close to Dairy Circle and it had crossed Rs.130/-. I could no longer shut up and as usual started my argument about faulty meters, complaining to the police and blah blah!

The driver paid no heed. He plainly asked me to go ahead with my plans and do whatever I liked! And that Nothing could stop him or hurt him!
I felt like a small rat trying to fight a huge monster!

I quickly got to work then. Typing on my cell as many details about the driver as possible! When he saw me do that, he got even more wild and rude and started abusing me in Kannada or some south Indian language.

When I reached my destination I asked him again about the faulty meter. It was showing 176 now! The highest I've seen so far for that journey.
Thought he would get scared of me as he had seen me note down his details. I also questioned him about the validity that had expired. But nothing could scare him, nothing made him stop abusing me. Finally I showed him the middle finger , threw the money on his face and walked away.

But I decided I wouldn't ignore this one this time like every other time. I'm always in a hurry to get somewhere and these kind of people take advantage of that fact.

So I mailed a complaint 1st on transcom@kar.nic.in.

Then I asked Kiran to supply me with any other agencies keeping a watch on these auto's.

And he sent me dis link : " http://auto404.org/

The Day My God Died...

"Who do you want to be when you grow up?"

Asked my teacher, Miss Anita in the class that day.
Everybody raised their hands.

Deepika said she wants to be a teacher.
Roshni wants to be a tailor.
Josna wants to be a housewife like her mother.

And then it was my turn.
" I want to fly a plane!"
Anita teacher looked at me for a long time.
"Who told you you can fly a plane?"

I did not know someone had to tell me who I should be...so I looked at the other girls starring at me now and some of them were giggling under their breaths.

"I see a plane flying every day. Mum tells me someone makes it fly and they are sitting in there.....I want to fly it some day!"

Anita teacher now smiled. " You will.....but you have to work very hard for it...study a lot........only then you can fly it!"

I nodded in excitement! All I heard her say was..." You will!"

I dreamt about it the whole time in school and I was still dreaming when I was on that bus to take me home. There was a landslide and the road was blocked. Our bus was stranded. Since the entire area is hilly, these things are quite common. I was very thirsty then and saw two ladies with a bottle of water. They saw me looking at them and offered me the water.

I drank it.
..............
..............
..............

Dreams.......they are made up of so much  unreality, made up of so many lies....
Dreams they say do come true if you really try hard.....
Dreams....I was riding on...
The highest dreams I had amongst them all.....
Then why.....??
Why me lord??
...............
...............
...............

I woke up in a dark room that had one window, but that too was closed.
The room was dirty and unkept and gave a foul smell.
For a while I felt disoriented...I could not distinguish between my reality or whether I was still dreaming.....Is it this dark inside the plane? I wondered!

I crawled to the door and knocked on it.
After 5 minutes a dark woman opened the door. I had never seen her before.
She helped me stand, and she inspected me.

"How old are you?"
"10"
"Okay."

She held my hand and brought me outside the room. It was almost a drag. But I was confused, why was this woman being so harsh on me?

She opened another door. There was a bed in that room.
"Are you hungry?" She asked.
"Yes."
"Then do what he asks you to do. Only then you will get food. Understand?"

......................
......................
......................

That was just the first amongst many of the warnings I got  there......and within a day the warnings were followed by beatings and kicking, and if that was not enough burning cigarettes were put on my skin to burn me slowly!

I wouldn't do what the uncle's asked me to do....
I wouldn't do what the old aunties asked me to do...
I wouldn't budge.....
I did not know what part of the world I was in,
I did not understand the language they spoke in.

My "No" had no meaning to them,
My "Dreams" were starting to lose their meaning to me,
The stripping, the rapes, My screams, My pain,
All lost its meaning day by day,

If there is god, as my mum said, I want to ask him," What was my fault?"
If there is god, I want to know, why he can't hear my prayers and my calls?
I want to know why my feathers were chopped off so harshly even before I could fly?
I want to know why should I only have to cry?

"The Day My God Died!" is a documentary I found on youtube while reading about girl trafficking. The stories of the young girls, in this case Nepalese girls trafficked to Mumbai are horrifying , terrifying!

I know that most of us watch or read about such stories by completely disconnecting "Our" lives from "theirs"!

Because we've had secure childhood,
Because we have our parents always protecting us,
Because we have the money and the education,
Because we belong to a particular family, caste .......

We think we are superior, untouched by the filth that surrounds us.

"Oh those Prostitutes.....they are the black sheep of the female species!",
" Those women are so cheap!"....

Most of us have seen at least 1 standing at a road side, or walking on a road at midnight in some part of the city, sometime.

"They do it because they enjoy it!" .....

Is it really?

Please watch the video and decide for yourself where our human civilization is heading and what are we doing about it.

Why I KIlled Gandhi?

Got this amazing fwd!

It is my humble request to all the readers to read this piece because it has that rare part of our history that is so important but is shunned all the time and is treated as a taboo.

I've maintained the original format of the mail.

WHY I KILLED GANDHI!!!

NATHURAM GODSE 'S ADDRESS IN COURT*

*Gandhiji Assassin: Nathuram Godse's Final Address to the Court*.

Nathuram Godse was arrested immediately after he assassinated Gandhiji,
based on a F. I. R. filed by Nandlal Mehta at the Tughlak Road Police
station at Delhi .

*The trial, which was held in camera, began on 27th May
1948 and concluded on 10th February 1949. He was sentenced to death..*

An appeal to the Punjab High Court, then in session at Simla, did not find
favourable and the sentence was upheld.

*The statement that you are about to
read is the last made by Godse before the Court on the 5th of May 1949**. *

*Such was the power and eloquence of this statement that one of the judges,
G. D. Khosla, later wrote, "I have, however, no doubt that had the audience
of that day been constituted into a jury and entrusted with the task of
deciding Godse's appeal, they would have brought a verdict of 'not Guilty'
by an overwhelming majority"**
*

*WHY I KILLED GANDHI*

"Born in a devotional Brahmin family, I instinctively came to revere Hindu
religion, Hindu history, and Hindu culture.

*I had, therefore, been
intensely proud of Hinduism as a whole.

* As I grew up I developed a tendency
to free thinking unfettered by any superstitious allegiance to any isms,
political or religious.

*That is why I worked actively for the eradication
of untouchables and the caste system based on birth alone. I openly joined
RSS wing of anti-caste movements and maintained that all Hindus were of
equal status as to rights, social, and religious and should be considered
high or low on merit alone and not through the accident of birth in a
particular caste or profession. *

I used publicly to take part in organized anti-caste dinners in which
thousands of Hindus, Brahmins, Kshatriyas, Vaisyas, Chamars and Bhangis
participated. *We broke the caste rules and dined in the company of each
other. I have read the speeches and writings of Ravana, Chanakiya, Dadabhai
Naoroji, Vivekanand, Gokhale, Tilak, along with the books of ancient and
modern history of India* and some prominent countries like England , France
, America , and Russia . Moreover I studied the tenets of Socialism and
Marxism. But above all *I studied very closely whatever Veer Savarkar and
Gandhiji had written and spoken, as to my mind these two ideologies have
contributed more to the molding of the thought and action of the Indian
people during the last thirty years* or so, than any other single factor has
done.

All this reading and thinking led me to believe it was my first duty to
serve Hinduism and Hindus both as a patriot and as a world citizen. *To
secure the freedom and to safeguard the just interests of some thirty crores
(300 million) of Hindus would automatically constitute the freedom and the
well-being of all India , one fifth of human race. This conviction led me
naturally to devote myself to the Hindu Sanghtanist ideology and program,
which alone, I came to believe, could win and preserve the national
independence of Hindustan , my Motherland, and enable her to render true
service to humanity as well. *

*Since the year 1920, that is, after the demise of Lokamanya Tilak,
Gandhiji's influence in the Congress first increased and then became supreme
*. His activities for public awakening were phenomenal in their intensity *and
were reinforced by the slogan of truth and non-violence* which he paraded
ostentatiously before the country. No sensible or enlightened person could
object to those slogans. In fact there is nothing new or original in them.
They are implicit in every constitutional public movement. But it is nothing
but a mere dream if you imagine that the bulk of mankind is, or can ever
become, capable of scrupulous adherence to these lofty principles in its
normal life from day to day.

In fact, honour, duty, and love of one's own kith and kin and country might
often compel us to disregard non-violence and to use force. *I could never
conceive that an armed resistance to an aggression is unjust*. I would
consider it a religious and moral duty to resist and, if possible, to
overpower such an enemy by use of force. *[In the Ramayana] Rama killed
Ravana* in a tumultuous fight and relieved Sita.. [In the Mahabharata] , *
Krishna** killed Kansa *to end his wickedness; and Arjuna had to fight and
slay quite a number of his friends and relations including the revered
Bhishma because the latter was on the side of the aggressor. It is my firm
belief that in dubbing Rama, Krishna , and Arjuna as guilty of violence, the
*Mahatma betrayed a total ignorance* of the springs of human action.

*In more recent history, it was the heroic fight put up by Chhatrapati
Shivaji that first checked and eventually destroyed the Muslim tyranny in
India* . It was absolutely essentially for Shivaji to overpower and kill an
aggressive Afzal Khan, failing which he would have lost his own life. In
condemning history's *towering warriors like Shivaji, Rana Pratap and Guru
Gobind Singh as misguided patriots, Gandhiji has merely exposed his
self-conceit. * He was, paradoxical as it may appear a violent pacifist who
brought untold calamities on the country in the name of truth and
non-violence, while Rana Pratap, Shivaji, and the Guru will remain enshrined
in the hearts of their countrymen for ever for the freedom they brought to
them.

The accumulating provocation of thirty-two years, culminating in his last
pro-Muslim fast, at last goaded me to the conclusion that the existence of
Gandhi should be brought to an end immediately. *Gandhi had done very well
in South Africa to uphold the rights and well-being of the Indian community
there. But when he finally returned to India he developed a subjective
mentality under which he alone was to be the final judge of what was right
or wrong. If the country wanted his leadership, it had to accept his
infallibility; if it did not, he would stand aloof from the Congress and
carry on his own way. *

Against such an attitude there can be no halfway house. *Either Congress had
to surrender its will to his and had to be content* with playing second
fiddle to all his eccentricity, whimsicality, metaphysics and primitive
vision, *or it had to carry on without him.*

*He alone was the Judge of everyone and every thing*; he was the master
brain guiding the civil disobedience movement; no other could know the
technique of that movement. He alone knew when to begin and when to withdraw
it. The movement might succeed or fail, it might bring untold disaster, and
political reverses but that could make no difference to the Mahatma's
infallibility. 'A Satyagrahi can never fail' was his formula for declaring
his own infallibility and nobody except himself knew what a Satyagrahi
is. *Thus,
the Mahatma became the judge and jury in his own cause. These childish
insanities and obstinacies, coupled with a most severe austerity of life,
ceaseless work and lofty character made Gandhi formidable and irresistible.
*

Many people thought that his politics were irrational but they had either to
withdraw from the Congress or place their intelligence at his feet to do
with as he liked. *In a position of such absolute irresponsibility Gandhi
was guilty of blunder after blunder, failure after failure, disaster after
disaster. Gandhi's pro-Muslim policy is blatantly in his perverse attitude
on the question of the national language of India .* It is quite obvious
that Hindi has the most prior claim to be accepted as the premier language.
In the beginning of his career in India , Gandhi *gave a great impetus to
Hindi but as he found that the Muslims did not like it, he became a champion
of what is called Hindustani.. Everybody in India knows that there is no
language called Hindustani;* it has no grammar; it has no vocabulary. It is
a mere dialect, it is spoken, but not written. It is a bastard tongue and
cross-breed between Hindi and Urdu, and not even the Mahatma's sophistry
could make it popular. But in his desire *to please the Muslims he insisted
that Hindustani alone should be the national language of India .* His blind
followers, of course, supported him and the so-called hybrid language began
to be used. The charm and purity of the Hindi language was to be prostituted
to please the Muslims. All his experiments were at the expense of the
Hindus.

>*From August 1946 onwards the private armies of the Muslim League began a
massacre of the Hindus. The then Viceroy, Lord Wavell, though distressed at
what was happening, would not use his powers under the Government of India
Act of 1935 to prevent the rape, murder and arson. The Hindu blood began to
flow from Bengal to Karachi with some retaliation by the Hindus. The Interim
Government formed in September was sabotaged by its Muslim League
member right from its inception,
*but the more they became disloyal and treasonable to the government of
which they were a part, the greater was Gandhi's infatuation for them.* Lord
Wavell had to resign as he could not bring about a settlement and he was
succeeded by Lord Mountbatten. King Log was followed by King Stork. *The
Congress which had boasted of its nationalism and socialism secretly
accepted Pakistan literally at the point of the bayonet and abjectly
surrendered to Jinnah. India was vivisected and one-third of the Indian
territory became foreign land to us from August 15, 1947.*

Lord Mount batten came to be described in Congress circles as the greatest
Viceroy and Governor-General this country ever had. The official date for
handing over power was fixed for June 30, 1948, *but Mount batten with his
ruthless surgery gave us a gift of vivisected India ten months in advance.
This is what Gandhi had achieved after thirty years of undisputed
dictatorship and this is what Congress party calls 'freedom' and 'peaceful
transfer of power'. The Hindu-Muslim unity bubble was finally burst and a
the ocratic state was established with the consent of Nehru and his crowd
and they have called 'freedom won by them with sacrifice' - whose sacrifice?
When top leaders of Congress, with the consent of Gandhi, divided and tore
the country - which we consider a deity of worship - my mind was filled with
direful anger. *

One of the conditions imposed by Gandhi for his breaking of the fast unto
death related to the mosques in Delhi occupied by the Hindu refugees. But
when Hindus in Pakistan were subjected to violent attacks he did not so much
as utter a single word to protest and censure the Pakistan Government or the
Muslims concerned. Gandhi was shrewd enough to know that while undertaking a
fast unto death, had he imposed for its break some condition on the Muslims
in Pakistan , there would have been found hardly any Muslims who could have
shown some grief if the fast had ended in his death. It was for this reason
that he purposely avoided imposing any condition on the Muslims. He was
fully aware of from the experience that Jinnah was not at all perturbed or
influenced by his fast and the Muslim League hardly attached any value to
the inner voice of Gandhi. Gandhi is being referred to as the Father of the
Nation.

*But if that is so, he had failed his paternal duty in as much as he has
acted very treacherously to the nation by his consenting to the partitioning
of it. I stoutly maintain that Gandhi has failed in his duty*.

*He has proved to be the Father of Pakistan*. His inner-voice, his spiritual
power and his doctrine of non-violence of which so much is made of, all
crumbled before Jinnah's iron will, and proved to be powerless. Briefly
speaking, I thought to myself and foresaw I shall be totally ruined, and the
only thing I could expect from the people would be nothing but hatred and
that I shall have lost my entire honor, even more valuable than my life, if
I were to kill Gandhiji. *But at the same time I felt that the Indian
politics in the absence of Gandhiji would surely be proved practical, able
to retaliate, and would be powerful with armed forces. No doubt, my own
future would be totally ruined, but the nation would be saved from the
inroads of Pakistan . *People may even call me and dub me as devoid of any
sense or foolish, but the nation would be free to follow the course founded
on the reason which *I consider to be necessary for sound nation-building. *

After having fully considered the question, I took the final decision in the
matter, but I did not speak about it to anyone whatsoever. I took courage in
both my hands and I did fire the shots at Gandhiji on 30th January 1948, on
the prayer-grounds of Birla House. *I do say that my shots were fired at the
person whose policy and action had brought rack and ruin and destruction to
millions of Hindus. There was no legal machinery by which such an offender
could be brought to book and for this reason I fired those fatal shots. I
bear no ill will towards anyone individually but I do say that I had no
respect for* the present government owing to their policy which was unfairly
favorable towards the Muslims. But at the same time I could clearly see that
the policy was entirely due to the presence of Gandhi.

*I have to say with great regret that Primes Minister Nehru quite forgets
that his preaching's and deeds are at times at variances with each other
when he talks about India as a secular state in season and out of season,
because it is significant to note that Nehru has played a leading role in
the establishment of the theocratic state of Pakistan,* and his job was made
easier by Gandhi's persistent policy of appeasement towards the Muslims. I
now stand before the court to accept the full share of my responsibility for
what I have done and the judge would, of course, pass against me such orders
of sentence as may be considered proper. *But I would like to add that I do
not desire any mercy to be shown to me, nor do I wish that anyone else
should beg for mercy on my behalf. My confidence about the moral side of my
action has not been shaken even by the criticism leveled against it on all
sides. I have no doubt that honest writers of history will weighs my act and
find the true value thereof some day in future.*

NOW YOU DECIDE HOW HISTORY SHOULD JUDGE ME?

Where Is The Indian?

An Incident happened today in the bus.

I just got in and took a seat, was listening to music and as always was in my own world.
The TC/conductor was collecting the money, I couldnt see him because I was on the 1st seat. So when my stop neared, I gave the money for the ticket! The TC probably thought I ignored him all this while...( in any case, why should I be paying attention to him?? But whatever...) , he refused to take the money, instead he gave me a lecture on how we North Indians think too smart of ourselves and we, the North Indians take the South Indians for granted and now a days how hoards of us are settling down in Bengaluru and spoiling the city's culture! All in all, I feel he just missed one dialogue- I was expecting him to say, " We should also have our own Shiv sena here who takes care of people like you!"

I only smiled in return and waited for my stop!

Just before getting down, I went to him and disclosed my real identity, " I am not a North Indian!"

" Then? A South Indian?", He looked shocked and worried!

" No. I am only an Indian!"

It's not his fault........now that I am not a localite, I realize how my fellow countrymen treat our own people!
When I've got angry at non Goans , I've definitely called them "Ghatis"!

We all love to divide and rule, don't we?

We Goans feel there is something different about us, some sort of class which these South Indians lack!
South Indians think we Goans only know to show our skin and get drunk!
North Indians pride themselves on their color and build!

I don't really know where I belong?
Map wise , I am a west Indian, then there are east Indians, and are people from the islands- island Indians?

Where is the Indian?Huh?Huh??

An American visited India and went back to America
Where he met his Indian friend who asked him
How did u find my Country
The American said it is a great country
With solid ancient history
And immensely rich with natural resources.
The Indian friend then asked.
How did u find Indians??

Indians??
Who Indians??
I didn't find or met a single Indian there in India.

What nonsense??
Who else could u met in India then??
The American said..
In Kashmir I met a Kashmiri
In Punjab a Panjabi
In Bihar, Maharastra, Rajasthan, Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Kerala
Bihari, Marathi, Marwadi, Bengali, Tamilian, Malayali

Then i met
A Hindu,
A Muslim,
A Christian,
A Jain,
A Buddhist

And many many many more
But not a single Indian did i meet

Think how serious this joke is..
The day would not be far off when indeed we would
Become a collection of nation states as some
Regional anti-national politicians want...
Fight back -
Always say I am Indian

Confessions of a hurt Hindu Secularist

Narendra Modi- The X factor!

The media tries hard to pull him down!
Congress tries even harder to break him down!

But hey, he is the man with the mission! The poster boy of the saffron brigade, the winner, the fighter, the warrior....... MY Ultimate Hero!

There is 1 issue that he is always nailed on! Gujarat Riots!
1000’s of Muslims were killed.

Between, Why aren’t we talking about J and K?

Who’s the CM there?

Why are Hindu pandits dying- for decades? Being raped? Being butchered? Why?

Their life doesn’t count?
If you are amongst those who criticize Narendra Modi for Gujarat riots and amongst those who don’t say a word about the other killings happening at other places in India, then you are communal!

You must be thinking, the writer is also communal, so she supports him! But wait a minute..... who created this word communal? What is being secular? Supporting minorities and dividing the population on the basis of religion calling it a majority and a minority....isn’t that communal? And who does that? Which party woos people of a particular religion? And then lays the blame of communalism on BJP?

The answer to all the pseudo secularists in our country- and the best slap on them all is Modi!

Watch the news now a days, they will again , again and again only remind the viewers about the Gujarat Riots, what about the developmental activities happening in Gujarat? That doesn’t seem to be important.

Bomb blasts around the country killed a 1000 more people, but what is our media still reminding us? About the Gujarat Riots!

I was also amongst those who were anti Modi at some point of time. If you only go by what the media reports- then you are bound to think that way. In order to know the realities you need to see, observe below the surface.

A few months back, there were riots in Goa.(congress Govt) Goa- a peace loving state! What really happened in here to result in a riot? Do you know that congress Govt was still blaming BJP for it? If BJP is in power it is to be blamed, if its not in power also its to be blamed?

I shouldn’t be talking about a particular religion... no sorry! I mean, I shouldn’t be talking about Hindu religion. Because anything related to Hindu, Hinduism is communal, isn’t it?

A few months back I heard about an incident of vandalism. A statue of mother Mary was broken down. It was made into a national headline, an issue! I am not against it, make it into an issue, definitely- someone did a horrible act !

Do you know, my dear reader, that for the last couple of years a number of Hindu temples have been vandalized in Goa? Just 2 days back- 12 statues! I repeat, 12 statues were vandalized~! Did you hear about it? Why not? Why wasn’t this made into a national issue? Who is communal now?

Why? I don’t get hurt when my faith is made fun of by M F Hussain? In the name of art he painted a Hindu goddess nude! Doesnt that hurt me? Why only hindu religion? Have we become so cheap, that we allow anything that happens to us?

Hamari koi ijjaat nahi hai kya?

I am not a Hindu fundamentalist! I am a regular, balanced headed individual- who likes to think for myself! I am a proud Hindu too, I love my religion. Yes, there are a few fault lines here and there, but then, which religion is perfect?

I am fed up of my religion being targeted every now and then and being stamped as communal if I say , “ I go to a temple and pray everyday!”.
I get extremely angry looking at my goddesses being painted nude!
And i cant control my temper when i see my idols vandalized time and again.

I won’t keep quiet!
To hell with your politics- whether for votes or for whatever reason our politicians are dividing our country-
we are sitting on a time bomb!
Sooner or later, it will blow!

I am ready to fight!
For my religion- for my identity- for my survival- for my country!

A Reminder

My own people say this about our beloved country…

“My my! Its so dirty here!”

“There are slums everywhere! India is so unorganized!”

“Have you seen the public transport? People are like mosquitoes , crowding in those trains and buses!”

“ Indians ko to ‘class’ hi nahi hai yaar! Thoda to ‘class’ hona chahiye!”

Whenever I’ve had the chance to talk and interact with some foreigners, I’ve found they never put down their country- especially the whites! On the other hand, their curiosity about my country is like, “why are things still so bad in India?” and I laugh and say, “You know, the politics and the corruption here is really bad. Most politicians are illiterates and have come from poor backgrounds!”

“That’s so sad!” The white answers. I can read his mind, inside he is feeling a lot of sympathy for me – POOR INDIANS! And over all this time, I and all my fellow Indians have started loving this sympathy we get from the whites!

I know it’s bad to generalize! All whites are not bad!
But I cannot forget and forgive what they did to my country!
Stripping her off all her riches and giving her the poverty she doesn’t deserve!
Their ancestors are thieves, they robbed her!

They raped my motherland! For centuries!
And I have a moral right and responsibility to hate them!

Now the British might be beating drums about peace, and supporting anti terrorism activities, but we do know what their blood is made up of! Their crooked brains gave us our most precious gift of partition- and we are still paying the price for it! Be it our legal system, education system – our life is still chained – thanks to the British!

All our vedic ways of life, the education system ( gurukul) were perfect and are still perfect to solve our problems! But our intelligence is chained!

We must not forget Thomas Macaulay:he said, "We must do our best to form a class who may be interpreters between us and the millions whom we govern, a class of persons Indian in blood and colour, but English in taste, in opinions, words and intellect."

As the architect of Colonial Britain's Educational Policy in India, Thomas Macaulay was to set the tone for what educated Indians were going to learn about themselves, their civilization, and their view of Britain and the world around them. An arch-racist, Thomas Macaulay had nothing but scornful disdain for Indian history and civilization.

"It is, no exaggeration to say, that all the historical information which has been collected from all the books written in Sanskrit language is less valuable than what may be found in the most paltry abridgments used at preparatory schools in England".

Please do not trust the school history books for the true reference of our glorious past. All the books were and still are manipulated. We are taught the wrong history- the one that only goes to show how India was beaten time and again !

Our young minds are trained not to love and respect our country!

So my brothers and sisters, before throwing dirt at your motherland, please remember- its falling on you!

Be proud of what our India gave us, rather than what we got from west!

unfortunately, that includes, the english language too!

26/ 11 The Blame Game

i read this on www.indiatime.com,

Man Mohan Singh, the prime minister
In his speech to the nation, PM Manmohan Singh mentioned ‘foreign powers’ without naming any. Sure, he is reticent about making direct accusations, but what is stopping him from standing up for his countrymen and let the rest of the world know what they already know. Even newborn babies would tell you that militants backed by Pakistan’s spy agencies are responsible for most terrorist attacks against India.

And while asserting his forceful stand on fighting terror, why did Mr. Singh have a bust of Mahatma Gandhi behind him? Did he mean to convey that India will advance another cheek if slapped on one?

Shivraj Patil, the home minister
His response to yesterday’s attacks was a classic cover-your-ass (CYA) response in which he kept insisting nobody knew if the attacks would come from sea, land or air. If Patil and his people cannot figure it out, they should just let someone else do the job.

LK Advani, the great Hindu hope
Until yesterday, Lal Krishna Advani was blasting the ATS chief for his investigation of radical hindu outfits. Today, everybody knows what a patriot and a braveheart Hemant Karkare was. Speaking to the media, Advani blamed intelligence failures. If the politicians keep involving intelligence agencies in politics, how will the ATS people have time to investigate? But of course, it’s the Hindu vote banks Advani has his eyes on.

Lalu Yadav, Amar Singh and Mulayam Singh - the rock stars of Northern skies
The influential trio of North India’s politics has sometimes advocated support for Islamic terrorist suspects and one of them has actually been busy garnering support for legal defense funds for those terrorist suspects. But of course, it’s the Muslim vote banks that they have their eyes on.

Bal Thackeray, the monarch of Hindu hearts
The monarch of Hindu hearts, and the only politician of any real influence in Mumbai, is quiet for a reason. His tiger’s den has been exposed to be a defenseless playground for terrorists. After 40 years of ruling Mumbai, Sena leaders and their followers have not succeeded in making this city any safer. In fact, Thackeray’s son and nephew lately diverted the law enforcement attention a little away from terrorism by bringing the Marathi-non Marathi issue back into limelight.

Other Maharashtra State politicians:
Their stature is so insignificant that they cannot influence anything either way.

Defense minister:
Anybody know who the defense minister is?

Being Indian

Different people have different notions about what makes a real Indian!

Like some people think, followers of Indian traditions and culture are the true proud Indians.
Some others think Hindus –or the original inhabitants who settled on the banks of the river Indu are the only real Indians!
There are others who do not know what being Indian is, but they say- those who follow and worship too much western concepts are not Indian!

There are different religious and political groups claiming to be more Indian than the others. It is like children of the same mother fighting amongst themselves.

The truth is, anybody with an experience of living in India has a different sensibility than others. Even foreigners who’ve spent some considerable time in India will have a different angle of looking at life- perhaps more spiritual!

So logically- it’s not our faith, dress code and our ideology that makes us Indian.

Perhaps the soul basis of determining a true Indian should be “how much 1 has done for his country- forgetting the other petty issues we so much give importance to!” – I guess that would bring an end to all arguments and silly fights!
